Resilience

The centering thought for Day 6 was “a gift resides in every moment”. Gifts like; being alive, each breath we take, seeing with our eyes, being able to talk to someone and experience human connection.  There are other levels of gifts like love, grace, forgiveness, appreciation, vision, intuition.

One of the more abstract gifts we can experience is blessing your enemies.  Someone cheated you, abused, disrespected was not nice to you, did you wrong in some way.  Forgiving your enemies is not for them, it is for you, it sets you free from the negative energy created by your enemy.  Instead of getting even, we should have mercy and bless them.  When you do this, you are actually clearing the way to receive a blessing as a direct result of you forgiving someone else.  By blessing them, you give them the grace to change.

Resilience is seen in Mother Nature; trees shed their leaves and grow new ones, flowers die and grow again, the grass is mowed and grows back again.  Problems can become opportunities, we all experience negative things from time to time, but sometimes the problem turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

Every day is a new day, no matter how rough the day before, we can be resilient in how we handle the next day.  We can use our faith to help us overcome obstacles and discover the gifts along the journey.
