INTENTION

The Centering Thought for Day 11 of the Meditation Series* was “I Create My Reality”.  The foundation of the reality we create is layered with the colorful fibers of our character.  The Reverend Wintley Phipps says the dimensions of our character include the following:  faith, virtue, knowledge, wisdom, patience, self- control, respect for the sacred, kindness and love.  There are probably other adjectives and synonyms like commitment; that you may think of, but these eight items cover the spectrum well.  He artful explained that we can build character by belonging, behaving, believing and becoming………all of which require strong intention.

Oprah and Deepak remind us that attention energizes and intention transforms.  Your intentions are creating your reality.  Oprah states that if you can dream about the thing you desire with intention, then you can do it.  The energy fields of intention, and attention work together with the power of the Universe to reveal the reason and divine design for your life, also called your Darma.

Sometimes our intentions get misunderstood and we have to defend and re-commit to the intention.  A study shows that less than 1% of the population set goals and write them down.  When we write down a goal, it is a mini commitment shared by you and the Universe.  In terms of planning and creating our reality, this statistic is telling.  People don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan sums up what happens when our intentions are not clear.  We should spend a little more time letting our dreams get in the way of our busy lives instead of allowing our busy lives to get in the way of our dreams and desires.
