Headlines

Headlines is a term that typically refers to a newspaper.  A title in large bold letters intended to give us a short description of what information follows.   It can also be the title of an article.  In the technology age we also have a different type of headline called chyrons.  Chyrons are those words, clips, images of things that keep scrolling across the bottom of the Tv screen;  mostly seen during tv news programs or special reports.  Sometimes we just read the headline and not the story, but the headline still has its impact on us.
Unfortunately, there have been more negative headlines than positive over the past several years.  Shamefully, negative sells more…..makes more money than positive subject matter.  The proliferation of violence goes unchecked and subliminal advertising is commonplace now.  Video games, television, and various social media platforms are portals into the mind.  We can become conditioned to violence through a process similar to osmosis.  We must be on guard to limit or avoid consumption of these things as they can negatively impact the way you are living your life,  your judgement and personal relationships.
One of the reasons the Science of Mind Mandala was created, is to help remind people of the positive things in life;  in the midst of not having a good moment or day, week, month,  or year.  The images displayed are there to help facilitate a different thought or idea to maintain and celebrate a peaceful state of mind.
We are in control of what we allow to penetrate our consciousness.  A lot of things get through and into the subconscious mind without us knowing it happened. You can decide to turn the TV off or to a different channel, you can decide to not to spend a lot of time on social media.  You can decide to not say anything, if you cannot say something good or  remain neutral.  Finally,  you can decide to focus on the many positive things around you; express gratitude about things like the warm sun that is shining brightly outside.  The mandala features an angel with a lyre to remind us that music soothes the soul and is a way to temporally turn off the negativity.  You can pause and count your blessings.
I recently ran across a positive headline,
“Hope Chicago: Charity sending students from Chicago high schools to college for free”.
The popular CBS news series , 60 Minutes, featured a story  about Pete Kadens who has been paying 100% of the college tuition for inner city high school students in Chicago.  It was a heartwarming story.  Good stuff is sprinkled in and around the bad stuff. It just takes a little more awareness and you can find the good stuff to help balance out the bad stuff.
