More Centered vs. the Extreme

Recently, the Cincinnati Bengals released a football player from the  team because he “was not giving it his all, not doing his best” in the light of his young daughter’s fight against cancer, she is around 6 years of age. This was an illustration of the profit motive, corporate greed mentality…”get the job done,  or you are out regardless of your circumstances or how great you may be.   A few weeks went by, the team decided to hire him back, pay him a salary, and they provided better health care insurance while he cares for his daughter’s needs. (the shift to where the motive is more heart-centered vs. profit.)  The pressures of social media may have had some impact on the decision.

There is a growing consensus that the world has to evolve towards a more heart-centered consciousness vs. the focus being on profit all the time.  If the change does not take place, mankind will just continue to destroy it’s species and the planet as well.   The excessive focus on profit and greed is the underlying cause of the financial crisis of 2008.  Slowly things are coming into a better balance between the two motives for doing business.
