The heart is at the center of the joy we experience in our lives. The pace and competition out in the World can pull us off center giving into the mind where the ego resides and the heart takes a back seat. The Centering Thought for Day 21 of the current 21-Day Oprah/Deepak Meditation Series* was “My destiny is joy”. This thought places things in perspective as the series comes to a close. The focus should be the joy an endeavor brings, not the thing itself.
Some of us wander off the path to our destiny because of habits, old beliefs, conditioning, choices, patterns, procrastination, motives that go against the law of karma, obsessions with electronic devices and social media. It takes balance to realize the joy in our destiny.
Just like we re-charge batteries, upgrade the software and hardware of our electronic devices, download patches to fix computer problems, change or adapt to new paradigms, we can expand our use of spiritual tools (like prayer, meditation, mandalas, the Bible, the spiritual community) to help keep us in alignment with our destiny and the Universe. The right measure practice and use of these tools, opens the door wide to joy, peace and ultimately your destiny.
As we manifest the steps that bring us closer to what we desire, the joy just before reaching the goal: seeing the goal in clear sight, just a few more steps, the feeling that says “I can do it or “this is happening” ; is almost more exciting than how you feel after you cross the finish line. This is why people say it is about the journey, not the destination. The extraordinary journey that included all the special people you interacted with, the things that you did that you thought you could not do; for some of us, the things you did that you thought you would never do; the sacrifices you made; all the new things you learned; all made to empower you into the next dimension of your ever evolving destiny. Namaste
