The Centering Thought for Day 18 of the meditation series* was “I play , I create, I succeed.” It almost sounds like a reason to goof off and actually it is. We must give ourselves permission to play, but everything in moderation, including moderation. Work and play must be balanced with rest, sleep, self-care so the brain can re charge, rejuvenate and revitalize.
Deepak says play is important to finding our true purpose in life. Oprah shares when we give ourselves permission to play, it clears the way for messages from the Universe to permeate our spirit. These messages create pathways to where there was no path, doors open that were not open before. The teaching goes on to say when we are engaged in play, we connect with the heart rather than leading with the mind.
We have been duped and some cases forced to live a busy life, hard work, overtime, 2 – 3 jobs. Most of the excessive work situations are grounded in issues involving money and the overall economy. If you are caught up in this kind of situation, all the more reason you must take time to relax, play, dream , summon your creativity (think outside the box), so that you might be able to arrive a solution that will relieve the pressure of feeling guilty for taking adequate time to rest and relax.
Science of Mind Magazine for August 3, 2017, Daily Guides, Rev. Ron Fox states “….the only thing that limits us is our thoughts. We have the power to choose. We chose and mind creates.” Deepak concludes that play is important to finding our true purpose in life, it is part of our destiny to just be. “
