FAITH

The Centering Thought for Day 13 of the current Oprah/Deepak 21-Day Meditation Series:  Destiny & Desire;  was “I believe, I trust, I let go.” This thought defines faith, this is the process that happens every time we use faith.  You can that take that phase and apply it to almost anything that requires faith.  We have faith that we will wake up in the morning, open our eyes, get up out of bed and go about our day.  We are somewhat detached from these activities and assume it will work as it should.

When it comes to life endeavors and goals we set for ourselves, the use of faith might become challenging because of the element of fear, which is the absence of faith. Patience works hand in hand with faith in the walk along the path to our destiny.  Trust in our faith is also required so that you can allow the universe to do its work.

In our fast-paced world of today, many people are too busy to allow the faith-process to work, preferring strategies that bring instant gratification instead.  They invest or should I say waste their time and money, obsessed with the details and trying to force the outcome they want when they want it, the assurances that will be there, the  location, who will be there vs. being detached from the outcome.  Detachment allows you to be present when opportunity arrives.  The thought of being detached from our dream or desire in some way may seem odd; but the mindset lies in between not doing a lot vs. being obsessed, a delicate balance.

A mindset of detachment from an outcome, is similar to saying I would like my dream to look a certain way, it may contain some specifics; but not demanding that the sequence and specifics of events occur like your ego might dictate.  Here is where the element of uncertainty comes up.  As Oprah & Deepak state, you must embrace uncertainty to relinquish self-imposed limitations that stand in the way of desires.  We embrace uncertainty by having faith that things will work out.
