When you think of character score you may think of the different parts of an individual’s personality; basically, the seven virtues. Here are the most popular 7: Charity Chasity, Diligence, Humility, Kindness, Patience, Temperance.
How do you quantify the 7 virtues to come up with a character score? It is not as easy as a credit history that yields a credit score sometimes known as a FICO score. A FICO score is based on several factors. The history of making credit payments on time is heavily weighted. Do you have zero late payments or do you have late payments all the time. in your credit record so this affects a credit score so as When we think about what a character score, maybe you think about the number of times you’ve done something bad versus a number of times you’ve done something good.
I think the reason that there has been no bureau of character score is because is because of the human condition. We are plagued with something called an ego and some people take the word ego as an acronym which means Edging God Out. For some, it’s hard to have a high character score when you don’t believe in God. Character score is similar to the old adage; “ beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”; a good character score is in the eyes of the beholder.
So, what might be some of those things that you might include in a character score? Are you honest, are you on time or late, do you get along with people, how often do you smile, do you make snap judgments or consider other views before making a final decision? Do you allow people to complete what they are talking about before you start talking? Are you a good listener; this goes to the old adage; God gave us two eyes and one mouth and two ears so we need to listen more.
How many how many different parameters do we need to have on the character score grid? I think up to 7 – 10 would be good; even that is subjective with regard to how many different factors should go into the character score. As you can see all of this would be very complicated and it’s probably easier to just stick to the 7 when evaluating the character of an individual. You can assign value to each virtue weighted against 100 and boom, you’ll have a character score.
